Question by Terry: Is January a Great time to visit the United States?
Want to visit places like
Mount Rushmore
Niagara Falls
Grand Canyon
Biltmore Estate
Explore LA
Have been to NYC and DC before and don’t want to visit them again. Is January a good month to visit the places mentioned above? Are some of the places closed for the winter?

HorizonHobbyTrains.com Visits the North American Prototype Modelers Club in Milwaukee, WI. Spectacular is how we would sum up the North American Prototype Modelers (NAPM) layout. From urban cityscapes to rugged mountain scenery to Midwest plains to big railroad bridges, NAPM has it all. In fact, the layout has been featured on the cover of the Walthers catalog and in Model Railroader magazine. We spent some time with NAPM President Alan Houtz who explained the story behind the scenes in the video as well as the history of the club. We truly appreciate the hospitality of the NAPM members and their dedication to the hobby. Now, we invite you to enjoy their labor of love. Last Sunday I went to the K-10’s model train club monthly public meet. I compiled the footage and pictures into a video. Since most of the time I was running a train (the CP intermodal) most of the footage was taken by my dad who isn’t the best cameraman around. I did get a few shots in, though (You’ll be able to tell who shot what) music is from Pentrex’s “Those Incerdible Alcos” Video Rating: 4 / 5

This video does not do this layout justice. I wasn’t even going to upload this but I needed to make some room on my hard drive. I didn’t have a lot of time to make a better video but I will try again in the future. This layout is a must see if your anywhere near northeast Pa or the mid Atlantic region! They are open about once a month and more around the holiday season. The layout is very cleanly wired and operates very smoothly. We were there on a visit to get some ideas for our own club in York. They are a museum and the work that they have done lives up to that name.
First in a series of video from another visit to a friend’s B&LE layout. Diesels in this vid are from my personal collection, the steam is from his collection. Steam audio is on board the units, 853 audio was recorded by Dave Trenn, rest of the diesel audio is from my collection of video. -866, 854, 862, 890 w/ore. -901 w/passenger train -853, 881, 830 w/ ore. -642 w/ 633 and 525 pushing -905 and 878 with misc. -866, 854, 862, 890 w/ore.
