Look in Yellow Pages and visit hobby shops — ask questions.

Search the Internet. Search on eBay to see if anyone is selling trains and see their prices. Research at the library.

Do NOT leave your train with anyone while they research it!

Remember, too, once it’s sold, it’s gone. Take lots of pictures.

Question by pokemon rocks: how do you make a secondary line of model railroad track off of the main track to store a train on your layout?
i know how to make one but how do you cut off the electricity to the secondary one so that the stored train does not move when running a train on the main track

You have to electrically insulate one of the rails on both ends, and attach a switch like this to turn the power on and off to the control rail:
