Question by Ghost: Does a regular desk fan work the same as an electric car motor?
I like working with motors and machines and making things go and i figured since they figured out how to make an electric engine powerful enough for cars that i could trick out my fan to run at like a hundred MPH Lol So to get familiar with motors like that, I’d take my fan apart but do they have like the same concept behind them or what?
Answer by Allan Normal desk fans use an AC induction motor which operates on a different principle to that of the DC motor found in a car.
My demonstration of running one conventional and one TMCC train on the same line at the same time (“transitional mode”). You are limited by the conventional train (Thomas in this video) because if you change voltage that effects both engines so you don’t do that, but the TMCC remote let’s you slow down the TMCC train if needed. Normally I run both trains slower, but for this video, it was more challenging at faster speeds. I estimate track voltage at around 12 volts which is enough to keep both trains moving at a good speed. Ideally, you want just enough voltage to run both trains, with the conventional one not flying off the tracks when it’s by itself.
Question by acman319: Are the Hallmark Keepsake Ornament Lionel Trains the same size as N-Gauge model trains?
Every Christmas for a long time now, I have been getting my father the Hallmark Keepsake Lionel Train ornaments. He loves trains and especially these ornaments. I was wondering if these ornaments were the same size as the N-Gauge model trains because I want to see if I can put these trains on N-Gauge track. If I could do this, I want to get my a track to put these trains. Any input would be great!
Question by ihatetristateevents: How can I find out if Tri State Events of East Rutherford is a DS Max company? Same business model, but I want
some sort of documented proof that this is an affiliated company. Is it even possible. This is one of those companies that promotes a training program, promotes only within and you are “trained” to own your own company. You are only paid by commission. There is no base pay and the atmosphere room and chanting and not being allowed to sit or lean during atmosphere is exactly like described in DS Max affiliates. Also is it possible that the company owner not even be aware that they are a DS Max affiliate, because no one who works there seems to be able to figure out who is at the top of this company. Any help on this topic is much appreciated since I am trying to peice this horrible puzzle that is becoming my boyfriends life together.
Answer by nucsookow These companies are so well hidden…I don’t get it, so when you find out, please let me know!
Question by skygirly62: Are all HO Scale electric trains compatible? Can you mix the different sets if they are the same scale?
Looking to buy mixed parts and sets to put one together for son for Christmas…Ebay has all kinds of sets and pieces…but will they all run on same tracks?
Answer by nasty1 as long as it is all the same scale then it is compatible.i used to have the ho scale trains and race cars running together, that was a blast.hope this helps.good luck putting a set together and merry Christmas.try to keep the track itself all the same brand name.my dad said that some of the newer track you have to actual lay down your self, not just snap it together.all the engines and cars will all hook up together, but he did say try to keep the same brand name for the track.
