I bought track this week so I can, for the first time ever, display my complete trainset. I didn’t buy enough track so one car is missing from the consist.

Two of my favorite things are in this picture: Bikes and trains.
Saturday night my friend Carllos and I gott the crazy idea to put together a 42 car train to operate over thhe Pacific & Eastern at the Rouge Valley Model Railroad Club. Both sets of units were operaed independently with Caros operatng the lead units and myself operating th mid-train units. What a sight!

This is my new Union Pacific 4-6-0 Freight Starter Set by MTH, from their 2010 catalog. The engine and cars fall under MTH’s Railking Rugged Rails product line. I figure these sets are real steals at under 0. You get a fantastic engine, some well done O-27 cars and a multi-function proto sound controller + constant-voltage power supply. I really wish Lionel would offer a comparably simplified and inexpensive Legacy controller. The set also comes with a loop of MTH’s Realtrax, which I’ll be trading for Fastrack on eBay since that’s what I already have. I bought this set online from T and K Hobby. When I ordered this engine, I was unsure if I’d be keeping it or re-selling it, but now I’m in love! Next up, I’m thinking some kind of Rail King Scale diesel. Video Rating: 5 / 5
My MTH 20-2503-1 and 20-2503-3 SD90MAC engines hauling mixed frieght by Lionel, MTH, Atlas and Weaver. Top running speed for this video was 35 scale mph. Enjoy! More pics and info available at www.ericstrains.com

As all other locomotives this Alco PA1-PB1-PA1 consist is dcc converted. I used Zimo MX690V again. 11 streamliner complete the train. There is no light in the coaches yet since they have to be replaced by LEDs first. (less power consuming). Video Rating: 5 / 5
