Do most model airplane kit collectors buy the kits to assemble them or just to keep the kits as collectibles?

Thursday, January 31st, 2013

Question by Christmas Fan: Do most model airplane kit collectors buy the kits to assemble them or just to keep the kits as collectibles?
I am referring to the old kits from the 1960s, 70s and 80s (Airfix, Frog, Monogram, Revell, MPC, etc.).

Most people buy them to build them initially, but soon end up with way more than they can ever build in this lifetime….

which rail do these pins go on?

Best answer:

The pins go on the inside of each side of the Y. WHen the train approaches the switch from one of those directions it will switch correctly to let the train pass with out derailing. All the other rails use steel pins.

Will the electric fence my family just bought stop my dog from running away?

Tuesday, November 6th, 2012

Question by Mr. Teehee: Will the electric fence my family just bought stop my dog from running away?
My dog Deacon has been escaping our yard and running free ever since we got him back in October. We finally had enough of it last week and we bought an electric fence. We only have the shock on level 2, but I don’t think that will hold him. I don’t want to turn it up to level 3, because…… that would hurt (I tested it 😛 ). Do any of you guys know for certain that an electric fence will stop Deacon from running away 100%?

Nope, but I do know that’s animal abuse. Get a fence or a rope or chain or something, jerk!

The electric dog fences, do you HAVE to bury the fence or can it be just left on the ground?

Friday, August 31st, 2012

Question by Blondie: The electric dog fences, do you HAVE to bury the fence or can it be just left on the ground?
I’m thinking of buying an electric dog fence which trains the dog to stay within a boundry as he keeps running out on the road but we have a concrete driveway and all the fences say to bury the wire. Is it a must????

there is an electric fence that is run off of electric boxes and they don’t have to be buried

Question by : Which scale for Model Railroading is better N or HO scale? I just want a few opinions. :)?

Best answer:

Answer by shroud
HO allows for great detail in the train and the landscape you build but takes a lot of space
N is harder to detail but uses less space
if you have 10sq feet you can do a lot more with the N then the HO

Just got a puppy, I need some help?

Tuesday, December 6th, 2011

Question by Pomlover: Just got a puppy, I need some help?
My husband surprised me and got us a toy pomeranian puppy as my valentines gift since we have really been wanting a pet.I really really love her she is such a sweet puppy. The problem I am having is that
1. I work from 8:00am-5pm and my husband works 10 am to 10 sometimes 11pm. I worry about her being alone so long, I feel very sorry for her.

2. I am having problems potty training her..i come home for lunch everyday to let her out and play with her. I have been reading and being consistent, I have most recently started to try the “crate training” method. How long does it usually take to potty train a puppy?

So is it okay for her to be alone all day? And what do I do with her, obviously I can’t just let her roam the house she would potty everywhere…I have been putting her in a play pen for now with food and water blanket and pee pads….

And does anyone have any tips and knowledge on how long it takes to potty train a puppy???
She is 12 weeks old and she is about 1 lb so she is extremely small…..so do I leave her in the crate when I am gone…I am also having a problem trying to find someone to come over and let her out. We both work on way on the other side of town and my sister and brother work and so does my mother. I don’t know any of my neighbors so I don’t know who I would get to come check on her.
okay “bobbie” they called her a “toy” because she is only 1 lb and yes I have papers on her from the AKC so shut the f up….it doesn’t say “toy” on the papers. The breeder that sold her to me referred to her as a toy because she is so small.

My husband got her on the 12th as an early valentines day present.

So you should get off of your high horse you don’t know anything about me or my dog.

Don’t you have more important things to do than going around trying to be a know it all?
Everyone (except for that lonely and miserable person Bobbie) has been more than helpful with lots of tips and advice

Best answer:

Answer by Bells IS Suspended
You leave the dog in the crate. A size appropriate crate.

Depending on how young the pup is…you might have to arrange for someone to let her out every 2-3 hours.

Are there some male dogs that are just impossible to house train?

Thursday, November 10th, 2011

Question by Jem: Are there some male dogs that are just impossible to house train?
Do you think that putting a cloth diaper on the dog is a solution to the problem, OR just a quick lazy fix to the problem. The pic is of a dog wearing a specially made diaper to prevent him from marking in the house.
http://img1.classistatic.com/cps/l/kj/09/1/28/978/r3/9958mdh_20.jpeg

I’ve been seeing MANY small male dogs that are over a year old that are being re-homed by their owners because of their problems marking in the house.

I’ve heard some say that house training and marking in the house are two diffrent things, and that its “OK” that he tries to mark everywhere because its his “territory” , and that he “is fully house trained” if he poops outside, and marking in the house doesn’t count. Is that BS to you?

I think that if a male puppy is strictly house broken while hes still young, he won’t mark in the house when hes older, and if an owner is too lazy with training a male pup, it’ll be too late after he matures, and it’ll be extremely hard to train it out of him.
Am I right?

To note where I came up with that idea, I was conned years ago into buying a dog at a yard sale for a deal of a steal, he was a very cute toy Poodle. He was very friendly and outgoing, but when I brought him home, he wouldn’t stop marking everywhere, and he’d hold it in and pee just a little to leave his scent on everything, no form of punishment would get it though his head that it wasn’t OK, and that peeing was for outside only. I was at my wits end and re-homed him to someone else that I remembered that wanted him at that same yard sale that I first got him from.

I had a male Chihuahua when I was a child that would never mark in the house, I thought that it was maybe because we were so strict with his training as he was a pup.
Is neutering after a “cure” to it???

Best answer:

Answer by greg b
yes dogs that are not neutered are harder to house train
