Holiday Train Sets Help?

Question by Kelly S: Holiday Train Sets Help?
We want to put a train around the bottom of our tree this year but need some help. I bought a train a couple years ago, the large kind, and it was SO loud that it was obnoxious and I took it back. It also played music but there was no way to turn it off. I’m not very wise with this train stuffso could someone send me a link to a train large enough for around the tree that can play music but can be turned off, and isn’t very loud and that looks really nice. I’m willing to pay anything for it. Are Lionel trains loud????

This one sound like it’s nice…and cheaper…but I can’t find out if it’s music is continuous or if it can be shut off

This one is a Lionel…don’t know if it is loud, but it has good ratings…expensive though…don’t know if the music can be turned off..

This one I think looks the best…I am pretty sure the music can be turned off… (it’s $ 400 though)….check it out! This page has some very prestigious clients…so I am imagining it is well worth the money!

This might be a long shot, but try asking this at the site www.boardgamegeek.com. I realize it isn’t a board game, but the people there tend to be really good at finding stuff like this.

Holiday Model Train Display

Friday, February 24th, 2012

Scenes from the model train display at Glen Rock Hose & Ladder Co. in Pennsylvania. This amazing model railroad was closing for good the night I stopped by. I arrived late, just as the final visitors were leaving. The volunteers stuck around for 2 hours while I shot the 4 rooms of track. When I finished, they took the entire display down.

LCCA in New York City for the 2009 Holiday Season with Lionel

Monday, December 26th, 2011

Lionel Collectors Club of America (LCCA) is proud to provide you with a video clip depicting Lionels recent efforts to promote and introduce Lionel trains to a new generation of consumers and re-introduce Lionel trains to the people who played with them as children. Lionel has several train layouts on public display throughout the city of New York and Newark, New Jersey. These layouts—designed and built by TW Design—introduced Lionel trains to thousands of people each day of this holiday season. On Dec. 7, 2009, Lionel and their custom-built layout display were featured on a live segment of NBCs Today Show. The LCCA was there behind the scenes to capture and share this excitement with you. CNN was at Lionels new temporary retail store on Dec. 9, 2009 across the street from Radio City Music Hall, and the LCCA was again there behind the scenes. LCCA Director Ed Richter and President Al Kolis met with and interviewed Lionel CEO Jerry Calabrese. Additional portions of this interview will be posted on our website at a future date. Click on the Holiday Video ornament image on the right side of the LCCA home page (or click the icon below) and experience Lionel Trains in New York City during the 2009 holiday season. Meet with Lionels CEO Jerry Calabrese.
