Warley National Model Railway Exhibition 2012 HD

Sunday, February 24th, 2013

This year’s video footage of the event which is held yearly at the Birmingham NEC in Hall 5 and my second video in HD. Overall the event was great but I would have liked to have seen more modern image layouts in OO gauge. Although for those of you that like steam trains, there was plenty of layouts that are based in the steam era. Also that impressive N gauge Dutch layout was not present this year which is a shame as I do like that layout. However there was an impressive Irish tram layout set in “O’Connell Street” in Dublin that has amazing amount of detail and funny enough I walked down the real street in October 2011, but thats another story. There is an interesting Italian layout in HO scale that I filmed which is also one of my favourites that I saw there as well which is new to my library of Warley MRE videos. I also filmed some American, Dutch some additional British Layouts in N and HO scale as well. I apologise for the jolts in this video in some parts as a couple of anoraks from the “Backpack Brigade” rammed my arm when I was filming so I hope that it doesn’t spoil the view too much as I use the barriers to rest my arm on as a “tripod” as I believe normal tripods are not allowed at the event due to Health and Safety. Personally I think large backpacks should be banned from the hall as they cause obstructions. That aside, it was a great day and I enjoyed a chat with fellow enthusiasts as well as a bit of banter with the exhibitors. I have left the ratings open on

Peterborough Model Railway Exhibition 2010 Part 1

Wednesday, September 26th, 2012

This is my video footage of my visit to the Peterborough Model Railway Exhibition 2010 and the video is split into four parts to ease viewing for those that do not have 50mins or so of time free to watch the video in one clip. The event was held on the 16th and 17th of October 2010 and I attended the event on the 16th and this is part one of the video. Summary: This part of the video starts off with a small OO gauge elevator train which run parallel up and down a steep embankment. In this part of the video I have taken some stills of the new proposed Bachmann OO and N gauge range of products that are planned to be released in the future which includes a couple of shots of the new Freightliner Class 70 locomotive pre-production model which most of the technology comes from the Bombardier German Blue Tiger locomotive. Also there is the new STVA car loader wagons and also the new JPA cement wagons as well of other rolling stock like the new MPV tamping machine. The layouts featured in this video are “Cornwallis Yard” in EM (OO) gauge, “Little Cussin” and “Daleside Parkway” in N gauge. Cornwallis Yard: This is an EM gauge layout modelled exactly to 1:76th scale based on a small dockland town with an industrial yard that has a moderate amount of freight set in 1935 with the trains operated by GWR (Great Western Railway) using Pannier Locomotives. Little Cussin: This is an N gauge scale steam era based layout that is based on the Settle & Carlisle Line set towards the settle

Warley Model Railway Exhibition 2011 HD

Thursday, May 10th, 2012

Here is the complete video of my footage from the Warley Model Railway Exhibition 2011 event that I attended on the 19th of November. The selection of model train layouts was good but the event this year didn’t seem to be as busy like it normally is for most years. As I was didn’t make last year’s event due to illness, I was determined to make this one as Warley is one of the biggest model train shows in the UK. I have filmed layouts and trains of various scales from Z gauge to G gauge and some of the layouts like the Dutch N scale model layout from a group based in Holland was spectacular as I liked the large girder bridge and there was also a working lifting bridge at the other end of the layout as well. I also filmed Littleton Parkway which is a British OO Gauge layout with some customised Class 60 Diesel Locomotives which was 60059 in Loadhaul livery and 60500 in EWS livery which looked good, a SNCF HO scale layout which mostly had Diesel Locomotive hauled trains and Railcars and I also filmed an N scale SNCF layout which had Diesel and Electric Locomotive hauled trains which used Kato UniTrack which has been realisticly painted to match the real life tracks in France, I also filmed Yarborough which is one of my favourites as its a Modern Image British Layout which I filmed a Class 73 and a Class 156 in Central Trains livery running on the layout. Unfortunately my battery threw in the towel when I was filming Yarborough so I apologise for the short coverage. Apologies

Barnsley Model Railway Exhibition: Kingstone School 05/11/11

Sunday, February 12th, 2012

I went back to Kingstone School in November to see 2011’s Barnsley Model Railway Exhibition and to be honest, it wasn’t as good as 2010, they were many layouts but only afew were OO whist the rest were large scale, and most of the trains were moving slower than a snail despite The Thomas Large scale engines were there, so i didn’t feel like putting the video together when i left the exhibition. But after getting my camera ready for Kirklees again later in March this year, i decided to put the footage to good use and get the video done. Blockbusters Theme by Ed Welch – Added in Memory of Bob Holness I own nothing.

Romford Model Railway Exhibition 2011: Part 1

Monday, January 9th, 2012

The Romford Club’s exhibition was held on the 12th November. Shown here are some of the layouts, including a Thomas one (a rare sight these days, despite their popularity with young children), a Wren-stocked layout and an Isle Of Wight Module.
