part of it was on display at Ridgmar mall in Ft. Worth Texas back in the late 80’s, and /or early 90’s, I forgot the mans name I bought it from, I would like to know how much it’s worth, it is an electric train set

The value will be determined by what you have in hand, the condition of what you have, how much of the original packaging exists, if it is functional. All the things that go into valuing a collectible. You may not even have anything collectible.
Best decision is to enjoy it yourself but you can always get approximate values for individual components by checking the sales price on eBay or Craig’s

To be used on model railroads. Anything and everything that you might see at a freight depot, on flat cars, in trucks, etc. Looking for 1920 upto modern items. Must be miniture (1:24 to 1:64 scale) and available in large quanities.

Might find a few things here: http://www.gadgettom.com/

This is the Yahoo search results of “model trains” +”train supplies”

Train Set Owners… what is O scale, N scale, G scale, HO scale etc.??? ?

Wednesday, May 18th, 2011

Question by VaMama: Train Set Owners… what is O scale, N scale, G scale, HO scale etc.??? ?
We want to buy a train set for under our christmas tree and I noticed the are listed under “scale” what does this mean? Does it refer to size? If so what size range would be appropriate for under a tree?

Best answer:

Answer by Chicago Q
‘Scale’ (or ‘gauge’) refers to what fraction of actual size the model is. It depends on the size of your tree and how much room you have, but the most common choices are O-scale, which is the size of Lionel trains, or HO-scale (“half O”), which is the next-smaller common size.
Here’s a link to an explanation of the common sizes and uses – you can decide which bests suits your space and pocketbook.
