Sunday, March 3rd, 2013

The ultimate in train sets! A LNER B/12 Class locomotive, 3 Pullman coaches, a J52 Class locomotive plus wagons, add in the Hornby Digital Select Control and you have more than a set, you have the makings of a really impressive model railway layout! The track configuration will allow the operator, using the Select digital unit the ability to have the Pullman train running around the looped circuit while the 0-6-0 J52 locomotive can be busy shunting the wagons around either of the two sidings. Of course there can also be interaction between the two trains with the locomotives double heading and pulling all the Pullman Cars and wagons in one long train.

Old East German Electric Locomotives 142 + 155 Holzroller DR

Friday, October 5th, 2012

The class 142 electric locomotives have been withdrawn completely while most of the class 155 electric locomotive series is still hauling freight trains all over Germany. The 142 was a multi-purpose electric locomotive for both passenger and freight trains, while the 155 electric loco was designed for freight trains only. Both loco series are East-German built. Technical specifications of both electric locomotive classes and more details can be found in this railroad video. In this railway video the 142 and 155 electric locomotives are pulling passenger and freight trains at Hoyerswerda in Saxony in Southeast Germany. The video was filmed in Spring 1998. ********** Holzroller train germany ellok elektrolok spoorwegen treinen trein tren chemin de fer allemagne BR142 109 BR 155 lok lokomotive taigatrommel

{13} East Court of the Museum of Science and Industry

It was a busy week and I had a terrible block surrounding the theme, so this is one of the few pictures I took this week.

We went to the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago for an afternoon and I was trying out my new wide angle lens.

This is the East Court of the MSI. Planes are suspended from the ceiling (that is a full size Boeing 727 on the left) and down below is the Great Train Story exhibit which is an enormous model train set.
