How is motor designed for 110v differ from a motor designed for 220v?

Question by taj: How is motor designed for 110v differ from a motor designed for 220v?
I would like to know an electric motor (like for example a washing machine motors) designed for 110 volts power will be different with the same motor designed for 220volts. In another words how can I modify an electric motor designed for 110 volts to be able to run with 220 volts power? I do not mean using a transformer to convert power source. My question is how can a motor itself can be modified?

FIRST I REMEMBER YOU THAT ONLY SOME ( FEW ) TYPES AND MODELS OF ELECTRIC DEVISES WORK WITH BOTH 110 AND 220 .

NEXT I TELL YOU THOES MACHINES THAT WORKES WITH BOTH ( 110 AND 220 ) ARE IN TWO TYPES :
1 .MACHEANS THAT HAS A KEY BEHIND IT AND USER CAN CHOOSE 110 OR 220 ,
2 .MACHEANS THAT HAS INTERNAL ELECTRIC DEVICE TO FINDOUT THE VOLTAGHE OR REDUCE IT FROM 220 TO 110 .

( I ALSO REMEMBER OU SOME ELECTRIC DEVICES CAN WORK WITH BOTH -AC- AND -DC-
POWER ( 12 DC AND 220 OR 110 AC ) )

AND NOW THE DIFFRENCE :

THERE IS MATHEMATICAL ROOLS BEETWIN AMPER AND WATT AND VOLTAGE AND …

ENGINEERS CAN BUILD DEVICES BY USING THESE FORMULAS TO BUILD A DEVICE .
