im currently working on a 752w engine and i belive when i got the engine, it was put together wrong. if you know a website add a link if you could.

I did two goog searches using these terms:
Lionel 752w engine
and
diagrams of lionel train motors
Looks like there are a few books
that are published on the subject.
Kalmbach publishes one of them.
I’m not that familiar with train stuff,
but I’m willing to bet you could find a good
contact through one of those links.
