Marx Trains – Coal Dump Station – The Easter Bunny’s Surprise

Wednesday, March 13th, 2013

Marx Trains : The Easter Bunny’s Surprise — Click “more info” for more information about this video — Original and custom painted Marx 6″ tin trains are used with imperfect editing trickery and a quirky plot, in the spirit of the early cartoons and silent films, to tell a silly Easter story. Most of the Marx trains in this clip were made from 1936 to the 1950’s. The Green CV and the Grey CV with tender are custom repaints as a salute to some very rare Marx pieces. Almost all the accessories, track, switches and transformers are Marx. The plaster houses and composition Trico figures are prewar “Made in Japan” accessories. The Easter Bunnies and Chicks are from The Old Country Gift Shop – 355 Roncesvalles Ave, a nice German chocolate shop. If you’d like to know more about Marx trains please ask me, or visit the Marx community on the net at groups.yahoo.com JohnP, Toronto

Steam Coal Drag in Hinton, West Virginia

Sunday, February 24th, 2013

Chesapeake and Ohio HO model Railroad in Bay Area of California. This layout is based upon the prototype and the Main Yard is Hinton West Virginia. You will see a cola drag coming into Hinton Yard, a helper engine added to the end of train in front of caboose and then the train going up the hill to other end of layout. Steam engines use Tsunami sound decoders and Digital system is NCE. (I taped this at 320 with 15 FPS and will record it again at higher resolution someday)
