Army Aircraft technician?

Question by A.W: Army Aircraft technician?
Does anybody know what pay is like as an aircraft tech. becasue acording to the army website all trades get payed using the same scale e.g private – 15,000 to 20,000 then get promoted to Lance corporal 18,000 to 22,000 and so on ..

If this is the case what is the motive to do a more complicated job such as an aircraft technician which more training is needed for etc. Why not all apply for simple jobs like driving and then do less training for it

Military pay is determined by your rank and time in service. That’s the way it is, you can rationalize all you want but it won’t make any difference.

The difference in pay comes when you reenlist or separate. Bonuses are sometimes paid for reenlistment but even that is odd. What I mean to say is higher bonuses go to reenlistees in jobs the military is short on, and not necessarily with any thought about the complexity of the job. If vehicle operators are in short supply and the service is flush with Doctors the driver will get the bonus and the Doctor will not be offered one.

When you separate the pay difference between a trained Aircraft Technician (especially one with certifications like an A&P license certified aircraft welder) and a taxi driver is considerably different.

I’ll grant you, sometimes it doesn’t make sense but that’s the way it is.

Where can I buy model aircraft kits and supplies?

Question by Lord Sanityfree: Where can I buy model aircraft kits and supplies?
I was shocked to learn stores don’t carry modeling kits anymore. Are there any stores that still do? I’m getting into model railroading and need paints.
