At left background is a conventional Lionel Grand Trunk (GT) switcher. At left is a Union Pacific Mikado (2-8-2), used extensively for freight trains in the first half of the 20th century. At right is a Union Pacific SD70Ace diesel-electric locomotive. The SD70Ace is currently in production and features prominently in the fleets of all the major railroads in North America. Australian mining company BHP even uses a modifed version to haul iron ore in Western Australia.
