My buddy and I were just about to call it a railfanning day, when we caught this incredibly long SP reefer train going around the Cantera Loop. The motive power was (4) F3’s in the black widow paint scheme and (3) F9’s in the newer scarlet and grey scheme. There were 91 reefers made up mostly by the SP / UP cars and one caboose. Trackage around the loop is 2773 feet ( in 1/29 scale dimensions) and it is 63 feet 4″ from the rail head of the bottom track to the railhead of the top track which is on the bridge ( again in 1/29 scale dimensions). What a great day we had transversing the rails of the Palo Verde and Southwestern Railroad today. We hope you enjoy this video!
