This video shows most of the holiday village and trains that I set up for the holidays. This village started in 1983 with a Plasticville gas station and school and has grown into a small city. The buildings are made by Ameritown, City Seen, K-Line Electric Trains, Lionel, Model Power, MTH Electric Trains, Plasticville, and Walters. The car and trucks on the streets are 1/64th scale, which is a smaller scale then what the trains are. I also collect 1/64th scale trucks, so this is the one time of the year I can enjoy two of my hobbies at the same time. The cars are made by Ertl, Hot Wheels, Johnny Lightning, and Matchbox and the trucks are made by Die Cast Promotions. Everything in this video takes about 10 days to 2 weeks to set up. The most time consuming part of the set up is running power to light the buildings. I run the wires for the building lights under the roads to help hide the wires. All the locomotives in this video is made by Lionel. There is a Pennsylvania Railroad J1a 2-10-4, a Pennsylvania Railroad Baldwin RF16 Sharknose diesel set, a Pennsylvania Railroad S2 steam turbine, and a Pennsylvania EMD F3 diesel set. The rolling stock is made by Atlas O, K-Line, Lionel, MTH, and Weaver Models. All the track was made by K-line with O-96 curves on the outside track, followed by O-81, O-72, and a combination of O-72 and O-56 on the inside track. The trolley was made by Industrial Rail and has been serving the city since 2001.
