The O-Gauge Model Railroad Layout of ToyTrains1 (2007)

Sunday, December 11th, 2011

An overall video of action on the layout. All three trains consist of AtlasO reefers, about 150 in total. The outside track has the MTH Premier GN Z-6 Challenger 4-6-6-4, GN R-2 2-8-8-2 and the GN S-2 Northern 4-8-4. The middle track has an MTH Premier PRR K4s Pacific 4-6-2 pulling and another K4s pushing. The third track has the MTH Premier PRR L1 Mikado 2-8-2 pulling and the PRR B28 0-6-0 pushing. That makes a total of seven steam locomotives in action at one time. Please visit my web site – www.toytrains1.com – to see lots more videos of model (and real) trains in action! You can now see the trains in True HD 1080p! For the triple-headed Great Northerns www.youtube.com for the K4s Pacifics: www.youtube.com and for the Mikado & B28: www.youtube.com

How to tips for better, more reliable N scale track from Model Railroader

Saturday, December 3rd, 2011

In this how-to video from Model Railroader magazine, Managing Editor David Popp shows you some easy techniques for laying derailment-free N scale track on your model train layout. David shows how to cut flex track, work with Peco rail joiners, solder rail joiners, file the joints until they’re smooth, and add feeder wires. Using these techniques on your N scale layout will keep your trains running smoothly and on the track. Most of David’s techniques will work on HO or O scale model railroads also. Then he shows some trains in operation on his N scale Naugatuck Valley New Haven layout.
